UR5 (CB3) Robot Programming

This course introduces you to the fundamentals of robot arm programming and operation. It was developed for a UR5 robot arm with the CB3 controller using the PolyScope software.

In this course, you will understand the basic features of robot anatomy, the different types of robot movements, waypoints, toolpaths, and end effector setups. Also, you will understand how to create simple programs in PolyScope and more complex programs using the Robots plug-in in Rhino/Grasshopper for pick-and-place operations.

You must complete this course to access the UR5 robot at LAMA (Laboratory for Additive Manufacturing in Architecture). It is also complemented by HANDZONe, the digital twin of the robot in a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. After following these tutorials, you may practice with the virtual robot in VR (requires a SURFconext account) or visit LAMA to develop hands-on skills.
