DIGIPEDIA

About us

DigiPedia is a digital platform providing comprehensive educational material on computational methods and software tutorials to students and life-long learners around the globe. The main goal is to strengthen student support through targeted digital skills that complement the TU Delft courses and facilitate critical thinking on applications. The platform provides computational methods and software learning materials in one single location, offering quick access and ease of use. As the content follows Open Education principles (see license information below), it allows people worldwide to access it as a resource for developing digital expertise. As such, it aims to support a worldwide community.

DigiPedia is funded by the BK Quality Agreement Kwaliteitsafspraken Projecten from the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment and by the TU Delft Open Science Program with the TU Delft Library.

How it started!

DigiPedia is the second iteration of TOI-Pedia, a digital repository of course material, tutorials, and software documentation related to the application of ICT in Architecture, Design and Education. TOI-Pedia contained the teaching material for the courses given by the Design Informatics chair (TOI) at the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. TOI-Pedia started in 2006 as an initiative by the chair of Design Informatics for the Architectural Engineering and Technology department. DigiPedia now expands on the tutorials previously offered, by hosting tutorials about digital skills for the entire Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment and beyond.

Open Education

The Open Education program at TU Delft is designed to foster the adoption and adaptation of teaching and learning methods through open educational resources (OER). The program aims to make education more accessible and affordable for students by building on existing practices such as OpenCourseware and MOOCs. The development of DigiPedia is in part funded by the Open Education program. Not only is the content open source, the platform is also open-source and it is possible for other faculties and universities to deploy their own online tutorial platform. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us through the Feedback page.

Thank you!

A large team of people helped to make DigiPedia a reality! DigiPedia consists of the DigiPedia platform and of the teaching material made available via the platform. The teaching material uploaded in DigiPedia is developed mostly by TU Delft teachers and other staff members working in Education. The platform has been developed under the supervision of a TU Delft Team.
